Adult High School Online

We now offer the opportunity for you to complete your high school courses from home! This program is for students who need to complete three or fewer courses to earn a high school diploma.  Students in this program must have a reliable computer at home, up-to-date virus protection software, and a high-speed Internet connection.

Is distance learning right for you?
Are you a person who is able to work independently? Are you able to discipline yourself to get tasks done without a teacher or supervisor present? Do you have good time-management skills, computer skills, and writing skills? If you can answer yes to all of these questions, distance learning may be right for you. If you do not possess the traits mentioned above, we believe the AHS Learning Lab program is the better option for you. . See Learning Lab

Testing
A placement test in reading using the TABE will determine enrollment eligibility. Testing occurs at regular AEC Orientations and Testing Sessions. Call 919- 334-1500 for scheduling information.

Your Weekly Commitment
To remain in the distance learning program, you must maintain a minimum of 6 hours per week or 12 hours over a two-week period. You may study online 7 days a week, at any time of the day or night you prefer. However, inability to maintain the required hours of study in this program will be cause for disenrollment. Should this occur, you will be transferred into our regular learning-lab program.

Assistance
As a distance learner, you are expected to resolve many of your learning issues on your own. Most of the online lessons should be self-explanatory. Nevertheless, we do provide assistance to students for both academic and technical concerns. If you are having a technical problem or would like some tutorial help, please contact us by phone or email. We will provide the support you need to help you solve your problem.
